The Preservation Project can transfer VHS, VHS-C, 8mm (Video8, Digital 8, Hi8), MiniDV, Betamax, Super 8 (silent only), and DVD into the high-resolution files available in their respective formats.
We digitize in .MP4, the universal format for desktops, laptops, smartphones, iPads, and more, but we can also digitize in .MOV, .AVI. Just let us know if you prefer the latter.
The Preservation Project transfers all video media into a progressive scan for the best visual possible. For example, interlaced (720i or 1080i) are those annoying lines throughout the video, where progressive (720p or 1080p) smoothes them out.
For DVD burning, we can make a menu if you have multiple tapes, but that is an extra charge and listed in pricing. Making a special DVD takes a bit longer to do in the editing process.
What sets us apart from others: We clean up the audio and video (blank spots and fuzzy gaps) to give you the best viewing and listening experience possible. We take great pride in our work and care of every tape.
We can digitize and send you a link to download, put on a thumb drive, or burn to a DVD (or all three!).
Available for VHS tapes: Acid-free casing, which preserves the life of your tape for decades. These are free for VHS orders of five and over. For singles, see pricing.
